The flowers are small, greenish-yellow, and borne in axillary or terminal panicles, appearing when the tree is leafless or with young leaves. The fruit is a drupe, ovoid to globose, about 2 to 3 centimeters in diameter, turning reddish-brown when ripe, and contains one or two seeds. Schleichera oleosa is widely distributed across India, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, Malaysia, and Indonesia. It thrives in a variety of habitats, commonly found in dry deciduous forests, moist deciduous forests, and sometimes in evergreen forests, often on rocky or sandy soils. It prefers tropical and subtropical climates with distinct wet and dry seasons.
