Established plants are somewhat drought-tolerant but will produce better fruit with regular watering. Avoid waterlogging, which can lead to root rot.

Annual pruning is essential for Sawtooth Blackberries, best done in late winter or early spring. Blackberries bear fruit on second-year canes (floricanes). Remove all dead, diseased, or damaged canes completely.

Cut back floricanes that have already fruited to the ground.

Thin out first-year canes (primocanes) to maintain 4-6 strong canes per plant, promoting good air circulation and light penetration for optimal fruit development.

Sawtooth Blackberries are readily propagated through several methods. Tip layering is effective: bury a cane tip in late summer, and it will root by fall. Root cuttings can be taken during late winter dormancy.

Division of suckers, which emerge from the main plant, is also viable in early spring. Ensure any new plantlets have a well-developed root system before transplanting them to their permanent location.

Sawtooth Blackberries are generally not suited for long-term container growth due to their size and spreading habit.

If initially grown in a pot, repot to a larger container as the plant expands, or ideally, transplant it into the ground.
