Snapdragons require consistent moisture, especially during dry spells and when establishing. Water deeply at the base of the plant, allowing the top few centimeters of soil to dry out slightly between waterings.

Avoid overhead watering to prevent fungal diseases. Reduce watering in cooler, dormant periods.

Regular deadheading of spent flowers is crucial to encourage continuous blooming and prevent the plant from going to seed prematurely.

Pinch back young snapdragon plants when they are about 6 inches tall to promote a bushier habit and more flower stems. Taller varieties may require staking for support.

After the initial flush of blooms, consider cutting back the entire plant by about one-third to stimulate a second, stronger wave of flowers.

Snapdragons are primarily propagated from seeds. Sow seeds indoors 6-8 weeks before the last frost or directly outdoors after all danger of frost has passed.

Seeds require light to germinate, so press them lightly onto the soil surface. Cuttings can also be taken from healthy, non-flowering stems in late summer.

Repotting is generally not applicable as snapdragons are often grown as annuals.
